Description:
Martin Gibson, with Gibson Oil & Gas Law, will be the speaker for our July 18th Luncheon.
Martin Gibson concentrates on energy law and focuses on the exploration and production activities of independent oil and gas companies and individuals, both domestically and internationally and on land owners and mineral owners. He is Board Certified in Oil, Gas and Mineral Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and is a member of the Texas Title Standards Joint Editorial Board. Mr. Gibson was a part of The Best Lawyers in America 2018 List, and was awarded the “Best Published Article in an AAPL Publication” for the article “Oil and Gas Documents Affecting Title,” American Association of Petroleum Landmen, as featured in three parts in the July–December 2005 issues.
Topic: How does the JOA Affect Title?
Using the 2015 AAPL JOA as an example, the presentation divides the JOA into three parts: (i) JOA Provision Directly Affecting Title, (ii) JOA Provisions Imposing Liens, and (iii) JOA Provisions Imposing Burdens but not Necessarily Title Issues.
