A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

Dear Members,

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer. This month, I want to take a moment to reflect on the July Luncheon — one that reminded me of exactly why FWAPL membership matters.

We had a wonderful luncheon together, and it began with a reminder of the real-world impact our annual golf tournament makes. This year, we were proud to direct charitable proceeds to two outstanding organizations; ACH Family Services and The NET. Hearing from their representatives about the work they do in our community was a meaningful moment, and it is a direct reflection of the generosity of this membership. Every dollar raised makes a difference, and you should be proud of that.

We also had the privilege of honoring this year's scholarship recipients. FWAPL's commitment to investing in the next generation is something I take great pride in and seeing that commitment recognized in deserving individuals is one of the highlights of my year. Congratulations again to all of this year's recipients.

To close out the program, we heard from guest speaker Jasper Mason, an oil and gas attorney with a remarkable depth of experience spanning exploration and production, acquisitions, divestitures, and joint ventures from the Gulf of Mexico to Alaska and beyond. Jasper's talk, "Don't Just Play One on TV," tackled something that matters deeply to this room — what it truly means to be a landman, and why the AAPL Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice set our certified professionals apart. It was thought-provoking, humorous and timely.

Events like this one do not happen without the support and engagement of our membership, and I am grateful for everyone who joined us.

As always, I encourage you to stay engaged, attend our upcoming events, and consider getting involved in one of our committees. FWAPL is strongest when its members are active, and there is always room for your voice and your talent.

I look forward to seeing many of you at our next event.

Best regards,
Jacob Lilburn
President
Fort Worth Association of Professional Landmen

JULY MEMBERSHIP LUNCHEON RECAP

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us. Every luncheon is a reminder that what makes FWAPL so special isn't just the educational programming—it's the people, the relationships, and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact together.

A special shout-out to Jasper Moon, who accomplished what many thought was impossible: making a traditionally dry topic absolutely hilarious. The laughs were nonstop, and the presentation was one to remember!

We were also proud to recognize the beneficiaries of our 2026 FWAPL Annual Golf Tournament, ACH Child and Family Services and The Net FW. Thanks to the generosity of our members, sponsors, and volunteers, we're able to support these outstanding organizations and the life-changing work they do in our community.

And congratulations to our 2026 FWAPL Scholarship recipients! We are excited to invest in the next generation of industry leaders and can't wait to see all that you'll accomplish.

Thank you to everyone who attended and continues to make FWAPL such an exceptional organization. See you at the next event!!

BOARD SPOTLIGHT

Second Vice President  - Sean Foster

This month, we're proud to spotlight Sean Foster, Second Vice President of the Fort Worth Association of Professional Landmen (FWAPL) and President of Norwood Land Services.

Sean has built his career on a foundation of professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellence in the land profession. As President of Norwood Land Services, he leads a team dedicated to providing high-quality land services while fostering strong client relationships and delivering practical solutions to complex challenges. Known for his collaborative approach and strong work ethic, Sean is committed to supporting both his clients and the continued growth of the energy industry.

Beyond his professional responsibilities, Sean is deeply committed to advancing the land profession through his service to FWAPL. As Second Vice President, he plays an active role in supporting the Board of Directors, contributing to strategic initiatives, and helping coordinate educational programs, networking opportunities, and events that benefit the association's members. His willingness to serve and contribute behind the scenes helps ensure the continued success and growth of the organization.

Sean's commitment to service extends beyond the workplace and the association. He and his family are active members of Keystone Church in Keller, Texas, where they enjoy being involved in their local community and growing in their faith together.

When he's not leading Norwood Land Services or supporting FWAPL initiatives, Sean enjoys spending time on the course and on the mats. An avid golfer and dedicated Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner, he appreciates the discipline, strategy, and perseverance that both pursuits require. In fact, as shown below, Sean can even be seen putting his Jiu-Jitsu skills to use by taking on none other than the Kool-Aid Man!

Whether volunteering at events, assisting with association initiatives, mentoring fellow professionals, or pursuing his passions outside of work, Sean exemplifies the values of service, leadership, and continuous improvement. His contributions have had a positive impact on both the association and its membership, and his dedication continues to help shape the future of FWAPL.

Thank you, Sean, for your commitment to FWAPL, your service to the land profession, and your continued leadership. We are grateful for all you do and proud to have you as part of the FWAPL team.
